Shifting Strategies for Global Community Engagement as a Result of the Pandemic
We are partnering with the Association of Corporate Citizen Professionals (ACCP) to host an upcoming webinar around how the pandemic required a shift in CSR program strategies. We asked three CSR thought leaders to join in a conversation to discuss the changes they made to connect with employees and continue giving back to their communities around the world. We will be speaking with Melissa Britton, Manager, Social Responsibility at Blackbaud, Amber Skalsky, VP, Community Engagement at PIMCO and Jamila Cowan-Wideman, Director of Global Team Member Giving and Volunteering at Dell Technologies to present an educational webcast.
Each of these companies have a global workforce and CSR program that had to pivot during 2020 to continue to allow employees to give, serve and become advocates for social change. As we prepared for this webinar, the panel dove into the demands that came from their employee base and executive teams to adapt their programs to respond to the world’s crisis. These adaptations included changing requirements to corporate grant programs, quickly shifting to virtual volunteering and providing employees with opportunities to learn about what is happening in the world around them, so that they can start to become advocates for change. To learn the details behind these changes join us on July 28 at 2 pm EST as the panel discusses how each of these CSR leaders curated virtual volunteering opportunities, what they found to be successful, as well as the creative ways they leverage skills-based volunteering to help their nonprofit partners.
This free webcast will be moderated by Carmen Adamson, Content Marketing Manager for YourCause + Blackbaud and is open to both members and nonmembers of ACCP.
Webcast Description:
Companies operating globally need to support their employees and communities around the world as they face the hardships from the impacts of COVID-19. The support required may look different as each country faces different issues. The world health organization estimates that 3.3 billion people in the global workforce are at risk of losing their livelihoods and that poses an existential threat to millions of enterprises. In the COVID-19 crisis food security, public health and employment and labour issues, in particular workers’ health and safety converge. Different forms of support are key.
Many companies recognize the opportunity to build programs to support crisis response efforts and develop long-term sustainable goals to address the health, social and economic impacts of the pandemic.
